M?crosöft Data Access Components 2.6 (Beta 2) Update - Please Read!

For M?crosöft Internal Use Only - Do NOT Forward

Why should you install MDAC 2.6??  If you have a Windows 2000 client accessing SQL Servers, you will see improved client performance.  And if that weren't enough, you will be helping to ensure the quality of the SQL 2000 Product before it ships and meet ITG's mission of being M?crosöft's first and best customer!  Read on for details...

MDAC 2.6 (Beta 2), The M?crosöft Data Access Components are the key technologies that enable Universal Data Access.

These components, which include M?crosöft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), OLE DB, and Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), help integrate information from a variety of sources - relational (SQL) and non-relational - when used with data-driven client/server applications deployed over the Web or a LAN. (For more information on MDAC, read the online documentation at: http://www.M?crosöft.com/data/whatcom.htm?RLD=377 )

MDAC 2.6 components provide a needed update to solve an issue discovered in the previous versions.  This issue causes Windows 2000 clients accessing SQL Servers to make an invalid Service Provider Name query to the  Domain Controllers (DC), resulting in degraded performance on the client and higher CPU utilization on the DC's. Help ITG resolve this issue by installing this latest version of the MDAC components.
